Be THAT Girl.

This quote by Lysa Terkeurst is a reminder of why we share our brokenness with others.
"When people see us, do they see the compassion of their Creator? If so, I guarantee when the enemy sees us he shakes with fear. He isn't scared of the judgmental soul shellacked with a fake sense of perfection. But the compassionate soul who has hurt deeply and come out loving? Yes, she is one of the superstars of God's grand story, and the one you want near you in the battles of life. She wears well the scars of suffering and can't wait to tell you her survival story so you, too, can survive. She has great compassion toward every created thing, whether it be covered in paint or flesh or dust...You will find life-giving purpose and meaning when you allow God to take your painful experiences and comfort others. You will be able to share a unique hope because you know exactly what it feels like to be them."
(It's Not Supposed to be This Way p. 83-84)
I want to be THAT girl. The girl who makes the devil tremble and who brings everyone else at ease in her presence. I want my eyes to speak compassion and my words to bring comfort. I recognize, though, that this puts me in a very vulnerable position because it requires me to share my struggles and my hurts. In doing so, I want to preface with a few concerns:
1. My faith is important to me and it is really solid, BUT it doesn't mean I am judgmental of others who have different beliefs than mine. I truly believe that the God I serve, considers love to be the most important thing.
2. When I share about my fitness plan, the way that I choose to eat, or how I parent, it is NOT to make anyone negatively reflect upon their own lifestyle. My purpose is to offer encouragement and helpful hacks if you are interested.
3. The content I share is based on material I have read or MY OPINION. You are welcome to share material you have read or your own opinion, but please do so in a loving, considerate way :)
Happy reading.
